# What is Central on Faaaster?

**Central** brings together the plugins of all your sites in a single list, and lets you **activate, deactivate or update them on several sites at once**. You can open it from the left-hand menu, in the **Organization** section.

> **The benefit**: instead of opening ten sites to deactivate the same vulnerable plugin, you do it once from Central.

## What the list shows

Central works **by plugin**, not by site. Each row shows:

- **Name** — the plugin's name;
- **Number of sites** — the sites it's installed on;
- **Vulnerabilities** — an icon flags a vulnerable plugin;
- **Updates** — the number of sites where an update is available, out of the total number of sites.

A search lets you find a plugin; if none matches, the list shows "No plugin found".

## Bulk actions

Three actions are available, under the **Bulk actions** label:

- **Activate**
- **Deactivate**
- **Update**

They apply to the plugins you've **checked** in the list, on every site where they're installed. For a single plugin, the **⋯** menu at the end of its row offers the same actions, plus **Details**, which lists its sites.

Faaaster shows the progress site by site, then the number of successes and failures: a plugin that fails on one site is flagged, without blocking the others.

## The main use case: a vulnerable plugin

This is what Central exists for.

1. Open **Central** from the left-hand menu.
2. Find the plugin flagged as **vulnerable**.
3. The **Number of sites** column immediately tells you how widespread the problem is.
4. In its row's **⋯** menu, run **Update** — or **Deactivate** if no fix is available yet.

> **Before a bulk update**, keep in mind that it applies to live production sites. Daily backups have you covered, but testing on a single site first is still best practice.

> **Central only covers plugins.** Neither themes nor WordPress core are listed there: for those, use the **WordPress** tab of each site.
