How do I create a mailbox on Faaaster?
Mailboxes are managed from the Emails section of the left menu, once an Email subscription has been taken out on the domain.
Creating a mailbox
- Open the Emails section of the left menu.
- Select the domain in question.
- In the Mailboxes section, click Create mailbox.
- Fill in the Username (the part before the
@), the Password (at least 8 characters) and the allocated Storage space. - Click Create mailbox.
The counter at the top of the section ("1 / 2") shows the mailboxes used out of the number included; the Create mailbox button is grayed out once the maximum is reached.
Each mailbox's space is set independently, within the limit of your subscription's total quota. You can change it at any time afterwards.
Split the space according to actual use. A
contact@mailbox that receives attachments needs more than abilling@that archives nothing.
Accessing your messages
Webmail is the simplest option: the Webmail entry in each mailbox's action menu (the … icon at the end of the row) opens it in the browser. Nothing to configure.
Setting up a mail client
For Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird or a phone's mail app, the Configuration entry in the mailbox's action menu opens the IMAP/SMTP Configuration window:
IMAP (incoming)
Server | |
Port |
|
Security | SSL/TLS |
Username | your full email address |
SMTP (outgoing)
Server | |
Port |
|
Security | SSL/TLS |
Username | your full email address |
The password is the mailbox's password.
The username is the full address, not just the part before the
@. It's the most common mistake during setup.
ℹ️ Faaaster support does not cover the configuration of third-party clients. The settings above are complete and work with any IMAP-compatible application; if you run into a problem specific to Outlook or Apple Mail, webmail remains available with no setup.
If messages don't arrive
First check your DNS records: without properly propagated MX and SPF records, the mailbox exists but receives nothing. The DNS section of your email account shows how many records are valid ("5 / 7 valid records") and details each one; the Refresh button re-runs the check.
