# How do I create an email alias on Faaaster?

An **alias** is an alternative address that redirects to one or more existing mailboxes. It is created from the **Emails** section, under **Aliases**, with the **Create alias** button.

> **An alias doesn't use up a mailbox.** `contact@` and `hello@` can both arrive in the same inbox, at no extra charge.

## Creating an alias

1. Open the **Emails** section from the left menu.
2. Under **Aliases**, click **Create alias**.
3. Fill in the **Alias address**.
4. Give it a **Name (optional)**, for example "Contact" or "Support".
5. In **Redirect to**, select the destination mailbox or mailboxes.
6. Click **Create**.

> **At least one destination mailbox is required.** Without one, creation is refused.

## Redirecting to several mailboxes

A single alias can feed **several mailboxes** at once — handy for a `contact@` address that needs to reach two people.

## Managing your aliases

The **Aliases** section lists existing aliases, with their **Address** and the **Redirects to** column; each one can be **edited** or **deleted** using the icons at the end of the row. When none is configured, the section shows "No aliases configured".

## Alias or email forward?

- An **alias** is a feature of Faaaster's mail service: it requires an Email subscription and existing mailboxes.
- An **email forward** is set at the **domain** level and forwards to an external address, without a mailbox at Faaaster.
