# How do I transfer a Faaaster site to my client?

From the site's **Subscription** tab, the **Transfer ownership** section sends an invitation to the recipient. Once the transfer is complete, the subscription goes to them and you stay on the site with the **Member** role.

> The recipient receives an email inviting them to subscribe. Until they have done so, the site and its subscription remain yours.

## Transfer

> **Prerequisite** — transferring is reserved for the organization's owner and admins. For other roles, the button is grayed out.

1. Open the site, **Subscription** tab — or the **Transfer** entry in the **Collaboration** group, which leads to the same place.
2. **Transfer ownership** section, **Transfer this site to someone else** row.
3. Click **Transfer**.

4. Choose the plan and billing period your client will subscribe to.
5. Send the invitation: copy the link from the **Share this link with your client** card (**Copy link**), or enter their address in **Send the link by email from Faaaster**, then click **Submit**.

## What the transfer changes

- **The subscription goes to the recipient**: they're the one paying from now on.
- **You stay on the site**: your organization's owner is kept on it with the **Member** role. They keep access so they can continue maintaining the site (changes, credentials), but the team, the subscription and archiving go to your client.
- **Your old subscription is canceled automatically** as soon as your client has subscribed to theirs.

This is the step that handles delivering a site to a client without having to recreate anything or share your credentials.

## On the recipient's side

**They don't need a Faaaster account beforehand.** The email takes them to a form where they create their password, then subscribe to the site's plan.

> **The transfer only takes effect once the subscription is in place.** Until your client has finished, nothing changes: the site stays yours, and you're the one paying.

If the invitation goes unanswered, send your client the transfer link again, or restart the process from the **Transfer** button.

## The order to follow

1. **Deliver the site** — check that it works and that the domain is connected.
2. **Start the transfer** and let your client know an email is on its way.
3. **Wait for confirmation** that the subscription is in place.
4. **Don't cancel anything**: your subscription is canceled automatically at that point.

> ⚠️ **Don't cancel your subscription during the transfer.** A cancellation archives the site at the end of the current period.

## If you're a partner

The transfer flow shows **your commission before sending**, calculated on the plan and billing period chosen in the first step: **30%** the first year, then **10%** after that, with no time limit.

It's the most useful moment to see it — you know what the site you're delivering earns you, before you even send the invitation.

> **Dev plans earn nothing**, since they're free. The transfer of a development site therefore shows a zero commission.
