# Update WordPress

From time to time, update notifications will pop up in WordPress. For security reasons, it’s better to always update to the latest version of WordPress, so follow these steps when you see an update notification:

1.  Create a new backup of your site from your Themecloud dashboard
2.  Complete all updates from your WordPress dashboard 
3.  Once everything is updated, verify that your site still looks good and that all the features are working properly. If something looks odd, don't worry, restore the previous version of your site and get in touch with us via chat.
