# Why do I need to verify my email address on Faaaster?

If your email address still isn't verified 24 hours after signing up, access to your projects is blocked: Faaaster shows the **Verify your email address** screen instead of the dashboard. Click the link you received by email to unlock your account.

> **This is a mandatory step**, not just a reminder. During the first 24 hours, you can already use Faaaster; after that (and, for some accounts, right from sign-up), your project list and site creation are no longer available until the address is verified.

## Verify your address

1. Open the email Faaaster sent you when you signed up.
2. Click the verification link it contains.
3. You're redirected to Faaaster, and the address is verified.

## I didn't receive the email

From the verification screen, the **Resend validation link** button sends a new email.

If you still don't receive it:

- check the **junk** or **spam** folder of your mailbox;
- check that the address entered at sign-up is correct — a typo happens easily.

## I entered the wrong address

**You can't correct the address yourself** once it has been entered at sign-up. Two options: create a new account with the right address, or contact support to have it corrected.

## The link no longer works

Verification links have a limited lifetime. If yours shows an error, **don't keep trying**: request a new one with **Resend validation link**, from the verification screen.

> **An expired link doesn't mean there's a problem with your account.** It's the most common case when the email has sat unopened for a few days.
