What should I do if my site appears insecure when HTTPS is activated?
If you have activated HTTPS from your Themecloud dashboard, but your site still displays "unsecured", it means that certain resources such as images are always loaded in http instead of https.
Here are the steps to correct the problem and remove the "unsafe" notification from the browser.
IF YOU USE ELEMENTOR
Go to Elementor >> Tools >> General tab and click on "regenerate files" this will regenerate CSS files
Then go to the "Replace URL" tab. In the first field fill in the URL without the "S" at the end of HTTPS, in the second the new one.
Then click on "Replace URL". You will then have a message indicating the number of URLs to be modified.
IF YOU ARE NOT USING ELEMENTOR OR THE PREVIOUS STEP HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM
In this case, you will have to go through a plugin in order to make the changes. We recommend "Better Search Replace"
Install the plugin, then go to Tools >> Better Search Replace
In the first field "search" enter the URL of your site without the "s" at the end of HTTPS
In the second field "Replace with" enter the current URL of your site, that is to say with HTTPS.
Uncheck the "Give it a try" box
Then click on "Start a search / replace"
Here ! The browser should now display the green padlock indicating that the site is in https.
If this is still not the case, do not hesitate to contact support by chat, we will help you to correct the problem!
