How do I clear my Faaaster site's cache?
The Clear cache button, in the banner at the top of the site screen, purges the server cache — and the edge cache too if the CDN proxy is active on your domain. Use it when a change doesn't show up on the site even though it is saved in WordPress.
The server cache stores generated pages so visitors can be served without calling PHP on every request. That's what makes the site fast — and what can delay a change from showing up.
Clearing the cache
- Open the site from your Projects.
- In the banner at the top, click Clear cache.

The Clear cache button, at the top of the Performance tab next to Restart, does the same purge.
Every role can clear the cache, including Viewer.
When should you do it?
- After a content or theme change that doesn't show up online.
- After installing or updating a plugin that affects how the site looks.
Turning off the cache
The Performance tab, Cache section, Server cache row, shows the active cache type — for example FastCGI Cache — with the note "Changed via the server environment (Configuration)". However, the Server tab (whose page is titled "Configuration") offers no setting to turn this cache off: turning it off goes through a site configuration file.
- Open the site, Access tab, File Editor section, then the
conffolder (at the root, next to thewwwfolder). - Open the
cache.user.conffile, or create it if it doesn't exist. - Add the line
~^/ 1;: it excludes every address on the site from the cache. - In the Actions menu, click Restart PHP / Nginx.
To turn the cache back on, delete this line and restart the same way. The same file also lets you exclude only certain pages.
Turning off the cache severely degrades performance. Keep it for one-off troubleshooting.
