Am I bound by a contract when I subscribe to Faaaster?

There is no commitment beyond the period you pay for. You choose a billing period — monthly or yearly — and you remain free to end it afterward.

What happens when you cancel

The interface puts it unambiguously: "The site stays online until the end of the current period, then is archived."

In other words:

  • no notice period to respect;
  • no cancellation fees;
  • the period already paid for remains yours — canceling the day after a yearly charge leaves you eleven months of service.

You can cancel on your own, from the site's Subscription tab: the Unsubscribe… button, the "I understand and I want to cancel my subscription." checkbox, then Unsubscribe. This is reserved for the organization's owner and admins. Until the period ends, the Keep my subscription button lets you go back on your decision.

Monthly or yearly?

The yearly subscription gives you 2 months free compared with monthly. It's a pricing advantage, not a longer commitment in the contractual sense: you simply pay twelve months in advance instead of one.

Monthly remains the right choice if the project is uncertain — a site in its launch phase, a redesign whose outcome isn't settled. Switch to yearly once the site is established: the billing period can be changed at any time, and the prorated amount already paid is credited to you.

Change rather than leave

If the plan is too expensive but the site is still useful, a downgrade keeps everything — site, backups, domain — for a lower amount. The prorated amount is credited to you, at no cost.

And if the site needs to change hands, the ownership transfer passes the subscription to your client without recreating anything.

What you keep after canceling

An archive is kept for at least 30 days: the site can be reactivated by subscribing again. Beyond that, its retention isn't guaranteed.

Export your site before canceling. An export downloaded to your own storage never expires, unlike the archive.

Is there a refund if I cancel mid-period?

No. The current period isn't refunded — but you keep its full benefit: the site keeps running until the period ends.

Changing plans, on the other hand, is prorated. If your needs have simply decreased, a downgrade credits you the prorated amount of the plan you leave, whereas canceling refunds nothing. Look at that option first.
