How do I cancel a Faaaster site's subscription?

From the site's Subscription tab, the Unsubscribe section ends the subscription. The site stays online until the end of the period already paid for, then it is archived.

The interface puts it this way: "The site stays online until the end of the current period, then is archived."

Cancelling

  1. Open the site, Subscription tab.
  2. Cancel this site's subscription section.
  3. Click Unsubscribe….
  4. Check "I understand and I want to cancel my subscription.", then click Unsubscribe.

The Cancel this site's subscription section, in the Subscription tab.

Cancellation is scheduled, not immediate. The interface confirms: "Cancellation scheduled — the site stays online until the end of the current period, then will be archived." Until that date, the section shows Cancellation scheduled and a Keep my subscription button to go back.

Restricted to the organization's owner and administrators. For other roles, the Unsubscribe… button is grayed out.

What happens next

  • The site is still served until the end of the current period — you don't lose what you've already paid for.
  • At the end date, it is archived — not deleted immediately.

So there's no rush to choose your date. Cancelling the day after an annual charge still leaves you eleven months of service.

Before cancelling, export what you want to keep. Archiving deletes the site's backups.

An alternative to unsubscribing

If the site needs to change hands rather than disappear, the Transfer ownership section of the same tab passes the subscription on to someone else — you stay on the site with the Member role.

How long is the archive kept?

The confirmation window states: "The subscription for your site will be cancelled. The site stays online until date, then will be archived. A final backup remains restorable." An archived site is restored by subscribing to a hosting plan again.

The archive is kept for at least 30 days. Beyond that, its retention isn't guaranteed: only an export downloaded to your own computer ensures you can recover your site.

⚠️ Don't rely on the archive as a long-term copy. An export downloaded to your own computer never expires: make it before cancelling, not after.

Cancel or change plan?

If the site isn't being shut down but is simply too expensive, a downgrade keeps everything — site, backups, domain — for a lower price. The prorated amount already paid is credited to you.
